God's word tells us that there is a season for everything. After that, there is a list of the different seasons such as a time to build and destroy as well as a time to embrace and part. This is been something that has been highlighted in my life as we go from spring to summer and as the seasons of my life change.

There's an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on the earth...
Ecclesiastes 3:1 MSG

For me, the hardest changes in the seasons were when I was unaware the seasons were changing. I would hold onto what I knew out of fear of letting go and going into the next. The times I did this I found myself in places of turmoil and more anxiety than a little bit. In the past few years, I've gone through plenty of changes in all areas relationally, spiritually, and even financially. During these times I didn't handle them well but as I looked back the Holy Spirit help me see the good things about those changes and share them with you all.

Each Season Brings Opportunity for Growth

Seasons change to help us grow and mature. Should a child remain in a season of being a toddler when the next phase of his life requires him to think like a big kid? The changes in our life help us to grow whether they feel good or bad, they all work for our good. The child throwing tantrums and not getting their way will unknowingly be thankful for those times of crying because now they can wait and they know how to soothe themselves during the waiting period.

The time of separation from my husband felt unbearable. So many times I was just ready for it to be over ready to be out of this season. Yet I realized in this season I have grown so much in my relationship with God, as a woman, as a mother, and as a wife. This time of separation had proven to be good for myself and our family even though it was a season that felt like a loss.

The toughest seasons in our lives come to help us grow and become stronger than we thought we ever could be. When you hear of people who are rich and famous some went through sleeping in their car, being rejected over and over again, and even have unhealthy family backgrounds. What were adversity and hardship led them to push until they came into their season of Fruit. Now, we never know how long a season will be in your life but always remember it's temporary.

Season Changes are Temporary.

This is one of my favorite ones to remind myself of when I'm going through a tough season. When you are in a season of mourning, heartbreak, loss, searching, and isolation these seasons seem like they will last forever. There is no end in sight to those tears you are crying, the debt, the shame, and the guilt. Yet this is a lie there is light and hope at the end of the tunnel. See, the thing about season changes physically, naturally, spiritually, and all other aspects are that the season will not last forever. Fall only is here for a few months before winter comes and the same with those challenges we are facing in our lives.

This was highlighted to me as I waited on God for the promises he spoke over me I realized I kept focusing on those things that I wanted to change and so badly wanted this season of waiting to be over. Yet recently the change in perspective came. I had a friend that helped me while I finished out the School of the Kingdom. She helped a lot for a few months most of the winter and most of the spring. Toward the end of spring, she began to build her own family and no longer could help. At that moment I realized how fast seasons change and to be grateful for what season you're in. Although those seasons of loss and turmoil are hard it's also temporary.

Find the Beauty in Each Season

Half of our battle is not what we are going through it is how we view what we are going through. Look for the reason in each season you are going through. Find the blessing in each season. One thing I wanted to leave you with as I listened to The Same Room with Stephanie Ike, she stated that the blessing is in the struggle and that blessings are more responsibility not just a new car, house, or shiny toys. That there are parts of us that have to see the blessing in the struggle see the beauty in the ashes and envision that plant rising out of the dirt.

My prayer

I pray that as we go through these different changes in our season that we are grateful for the changes. That we open up and share with vulnerability and transparency in circles that are safe. In every moment I pray that we have the perspective to keep going despite the challenges. I pray that we know what season we are in and when season changes are coming so that we let go and embrace each change. Most importantly I pray we stay focused on the love of God that helps us through anything we are facing and gives us hope that one day the harvest, sunshine, or rain will come and that it'll be right on time.
